About project

2024.

The conceptual solution of the residential complex in Nis (22,000 m2) includes two slats designed to meet the requirements of modern housing. The facilities are functionally organized in such a way as to maximize the utilization of the plot while preserving the high degree of insolation of each unit. The dominant motif is the roof terraces that serve as private green oases, while the ground floor is intended for shared facilities and pedestrian flows connecting the two objects into a single whole.

Concept

The architectural expression is characterized by the play of full and empty volumes, where the cascading retraction of floors is used to form spacious terraces. The facade is solved through the contrast of warm wood textures and neutral gray tones, which gives the object a reduced but dynamic character. The vertical rasters and the accentuated horizontal lines of the panels define the rhythm of the facade, while the large glass surfaces erase the border between the interior and the external environment. Special emphasis is placed on the integration of greenery into the structure of the building, making the lamellas become “living” elements of the urban landscape of Niš.

Sunny Gate in Niš uses cascading form and contrasting materials to transform a massive residential volume into a humanized space infused with greenery
