About project

2018.

The Rock Museum project in Zaječar was conceived as a permanent spatial symbol of the famous Gitariada, located in the authentic environment of the Kraljevica park-forest. With a gross area of 1,600 m², the building balances between exhibition use and accompanying facilities, such as a café-restaurant and an administrative block. The interior is characterized by an open plan with rooms of great heights, allowing maximum flexibility for settings, while an accompanying bungalow complex is planned directly adjacent to the museum to accommodate participants and visitors of the festival.

Concept

The concept rests on a monolithic, rectangular shape that subtly integrates into the slope of the terrain and the surrounding greenery. The architectural composition develops through the careful rhythm of large glass openings and full facade planes, thus realizing a dialogue between the internal energy of the museum and the tranquility of nature. Using raw concrete, glass and wood paneling, the object reflects the sincerity and power of rock music, while clean geometric lines contribute to visual stability and harmony with the canopies that surround it.

Rock Museum in Zaječar is an architectural ode to tradition, where raw materials and nature merge into a unique space of creative freedom
