About project

2025

The new two-story administration building within the Veliko Selo WWTP complex is designed with access to a flat roof, featuring a reinforced concrete structural system fully integrated with the facility's technological processes. The ground floor houses public areas, healthcare facilities, a kitchen, a laboratory, and technical rooms, while the upper floor contains administrative offices and the SCADA room. The roof level is designated for HVAC equipment, with the potential for a green roof or an open terrace for employees. The selection of materials, thermal insulation, and energy-efficient facade glazing adheres to modern environmental and construction standards, while interior finishes for floors, walls, and ceilings are tailored to the specific functional requirements of each zone.

Concept

The architectural concept is based on a careful selection of long-lasting, resilient materials that require minimal maintenance, with a special emphasis on light-toned brick for its timeless aesthetic and exceptional durability. The facade design is characterized by a dynamic relationship between the subtly recessed ground floor and the dominant volume of the first floor. On the upper level, particular attention was paid to ensuring high-quality natural lighting in the offices while preventing interior overheating, achieved through the integration of vertical external louvers that provide effective sun protection without obstructing open views. The ground floor acts as a visual pedestal, where a combination of glass surfaces and large-format ventilated facade panels in neutral tones creates an elegant contrast, visually grounding the dominant upper volume.

The WWTP Administration Building is a thoughtful and sustainable architectural solution that combines the durability and aesthetics of brick facades with modern sun-shading systems, creating an energy-efficient, visually striking, and representative administrative facility.
